What Financing May Help Address

Water Problems That Can Turn Into Larger Projects

Mahoning County covers a lot of different properties, and the same complaint — a wet basement — can mean very different work from one to the next. Financing is a payment question, so the useful thing a county page can do is explain what actually drives the scope and therefore the price.

Where the water appears

Water at the floor-wall joint points toward an interior drain; water through the wall face points toward exterior work or crack repair. The location is the first thing the estimate settles.

How many systems are involved

A single repair is a smaller project than interior drainage plus a sump plus downspout corrections. Documented county jobs include both ends of that range.

Whether structural work is needed too

Wall support, crack repair, or reinforcement alongside waterproofing adds scope. Our documented Boardman commercial project combined waterproofing on both sides of the wall with a floor jack array.

Surface work and restoration

Excavation means backfill and grading; interior trenching means concrete restoration. Both are part of project cost.

Access and site conditions

Tight access, driveways over the work, and landscaping all affect how an exterior project is executed and what it costs.

Financing options available for qualifying customers. Terms and eligibility are determined by the financing provider.

Interior vs. Exterior

Which Waterproofing Approach Applies Here

Across the county, our documented work splits roughly down the middle: interior drainage and pumping in one city, exterior wall work and downspout replacement in another. That is not an accident of geography — it reflects what each property needed.

Interior waterproofing

Interior systems collect and discharge water that has already entered the basement: a perimeter drain at the floor-wall joint, a stone bed, and a sump pump with a discharge line. Documented interior projects in the county also included the restoration work afterward.

Exterior waterproofing

Exterior systems keep water from reaching the wall: excavation to the footer, wall sealing and coating, drainage board, a stone-bedded footer drain, and backfill with grading. Documented exterior work in the county also replaced a failed downspout line at the same time.

The county-level point is simple: do not choose the method before the source is identified. Two houses on the same street can need opposite solutions, and the estimate is where that gets decided on evidence rather than assumption.

The Process

Request an Estimate, Then Explore Financing

Every county project starts the same way: an inspection and a written estimate. Financing is applied to that scope afterward.

1

Request the free estimate

We evaluate the property itself — where water appears, how the wall and floor look, and how the outside is draining — rather than working from a general assumption.

2

Review the written scope and price

The estimate lists the recommended work by scope, which is what makes it possible to see what a financed amount would actually cover.

3

Check your financing options

Prequalification goes through the financing provider, and any available options and terms come from them.

4

Schedule the work

Work is scheduled once the contract and any required financing authorization are complete.

We serve Mahoning County from Youngstown, including Boardman, Canfield, Poland, Austintown, Struthers, Campbell, and North Lima.

Exterior Foundation Waterproofing & Underground Downspout Drain

Exterior Waterproofing & Foundation Drainage

The problem

Water intrusion at the foundation wall of a Boardman home, with dense vegetation growing directly against the foundation.

Contributing factors

  • Ivy and overgrown shrubs held moisture against the foundation wall year-round — a documented contributor to water intrusion at the wall.
  • The buried foundation wall had no waterproofing coating or drainage board protecting the masonry.
  • An original terra-cotta downspout line was removed during the job: roof water needed a reliable underground path away from the house.

Recommended & installed solution

Excavate to the footer along the affected wall, seal cracks and voids with hydraulic cement, apply two coats of Grey Shield acrylic waterproofing coating to the full wall height, then install DMX AG air-gap drainage board and a pipe-socked 4-inch SDR35 footer drain bedded in #57 river wash stone. Backfill and grade the site, and carry the roof water through new underground SDR35 downspout pipe to a street-curb discharge.

Drainage, sump & foundation work

  • Footer drain installation at the base of the foundation
  • Full-height exterior wall coating plus DMX AG air-gap drainage board
  • Replacement of the original terra-cotta downspout line with SDR35 pipe discharging at the street curb
  • Backfill, grading, and site restoration

Interior Perimeter Drainage, Two Sump Pumps & Yard Drainage Tie-In

Interior Waterproofing, Sump Pumps & Yard Drainage

The problem

Water reaching the interior perimeter of a Canfield basement, addressed together with exterior drainage work on the same property.

Contributing factors

  • Water arriving at the interior perimeter of the basement rather than at a single visible entry point.
  • The installed perimeter system uses two sump pumps with a full-length SDR35 footer drain and a stone bed.
  • Yard and roof water were addressed in the same project — a gravel-bedded french drain trench and downspout drain runs ending at a pop-up emitter.

Recommended & installed solution

Cut and excavate a perimeter trench along the interior foundation walls, drill weep holes into the bottom course of block, and install a pipe-socked SDR35 perforated footer drain bedded in #57 river rock stone, routed to two sump pumps. Carry a DMX air-gap strip up the wall base and restore concrete over the trench. Exterior: a gravel-bedded french drain trench with long-run PVC pipe, plus downspout drain runs connected at the foundation and discharging at a pop-up emitter.

Drainage, sump & foundation work

  • Interior perimeter footer drain with weep holes and air-gap strip
  • Two sump pump installations in the perimeter system
  • Concrete restoration over the interior trench
  • Exterior french drain trench with gravel bedding
  • Downspout drain runs with pop-up emitter discharge

Interior Perimeter Drainage with Sump Basin

Interior Waterproofing & Sump Systems

The problem

Basement water at the interior perimeter of a Poland, OH home. The entry point addressed is the floor-wall joint along the block foundation, and the installed system collects water at the perimeter and carries it to a sump basin in the corner.

Contributing factors

  • A concrete block foundation wall — the interior drain is cut along the floor-wall joint to intercept water at that seam.
  • An existing tile-over-slab basement floor, which had to be cut back along the perimeter to reach the wall base and set the drain line.

Recommended & installed solution

Cut and excavate a perimeter trench through the existing tile-and-slab floor along the interior foundation walls, drill the base of the block wall at the floor-wall joint, and set a perforated drain line in a washed-stone bed running the full perimeter to a sump basin in the corner. Install dimpled drainage board along the base of the wall, set the sump pump in the basin with the discharge line connected and routed out of the basement, then restore concrete along the wall-floor joint over the trench.

Drainage, sump & foundation work

  • Perimeter trench cut through the existing tile-and-slab floor
  • Perforated drain line in a washed-stone bed running the full perimeter
  • Dimpled drainage board along the base of the block wall
  • Sump pump set in the corner basin with the discharge line connected
  • Concrete restored along the wall-floor joint over the trench
